Saturn-shaped unknown photographed over Guadalajara, Mexico, Sept, 2004.

The UFO Casebook received a sighting report from Oscar Franco on June 2, 2005. After reading the original report in which Franco mentioned that he had taken five photographs in Guadalajara, I emailed him back and asked for one of his best pictures of that day. On June 3, I received the image displayed here. Oscar's English is not the best, but I was able to get the gist of his report, which is as follows:

(Photograph # 2) source & references: Oscar Franco, eyewitness report

Photograph © Oscar Franco

On September 11, 2004, my family and I were visiting a location called Ajijc (sic), Jalisco, Guadalajara, Mexico. We often visit this site as a family. At exactly 4:58 P M, one of the family members yelled that there was something unusual in the sky above us, out over the lake. The lake is called Chapala. We began to watch the object for a time, and had it not been for a camera malfunction, I would have taken a lot more photographs than I did.

It was a little bit rainy when the object first appeared. With the naked eye, the object looked similar to the planet Saturn. You could see a hazy area around the craft, like an energy field 2. The object dipped down, and skimmed across the waters of the lake, and that was when I took five photographs of it before it disappeared.

Chapala Jalisco, México Saucer Shaped Craft

Date: September 11, 2004

Time: 3:30 p.m.

Here is the anecdote:

On Sep/11/2004 Chapala Jalisco, México at about 15:30 pm. My family and I went to dinner to the real Chapala Hotel 1 (Ajijic Jalisco, Mexico). We ate and then went to table next to the pool, and I saw an object with a shape like a saucer with an American-ball inside. I said look an UFO and it moved up an down nearly (near the) of surface of the lake, we saw too an exhaust2 coming from the object and suddenly go down to the surface of the lake and it would navigate on the water for about 50 mts (minutes), then disappeared.

Thank you to the witness for the interesting report and the photos.

Note 1: See reference to the hotel at the bottom

Note 2: Here we have a little confusion as to the hazy area” and we saw too an exhaust”

UFOs are not noted for exhaust discharges, however in this case, with its closeness to the water, I believe what was seen might have been “steam” caused by the field touching the water. The hazy area might have been in one of the aerial photos on the UFO Casebook website that when enlarged seems to show black, swirling lines around the craft - CF-
