Go Back Report # 712

Case 1 [Researcher Thanassis Vembos’s case 1-CF-]

Date: Summer of 1910

Place: Village of Lechena, Helis County, Peloponnese.

Description: A loud hum coming from the nearby sea (Ionian) spread panic to the residents of the village. At about noon, a “flaming barrel” came out of the sea emitting a loud noise. After making some circles above the village, it exploded and dissolved over the Church of Virgin Mary (Panagia Lecheniotissa). Everybody was talking about this “divine miracle” for a long time after.
