Strange objects were seen descending into the sea off
Japan in both 1956 and 1957, and a more recent sighting of a USO took place
in 1980. On that occasion, actually on 18 August 1980, the captain of a Russian research
vessel in the Sea of Japan saw
a metallic-looking cylindrical object rise slowly from the sea and hover
nearby before shooting away.
