Sighting Description: Quattro persone che stavano pescando a bordo di una barca nella notte videro due luci sul mare che si accendevano e si spengevano alternativamente. Terrorizzati presero un paio di binocoli e si resero conto che vi era anche una lunga antenna che spuntava dall’oggetto. Stranamente, mentre si avvicinavano all’oggetto il motore si spense, anche se da successive analisi si seppe che fu un errore del motorista che venne preso dal panico. Giunti a ridosso dell’oggetto lo issarono a bordo e scoprirono che era un tubo di metallo lungo da 80 a 90 centimetri, con un diametro di circa 15-20. Era di colore rosso, con un’antenna lunga circa un metro. Aveva una sola lampada bianca, ma il riflesso che emanava sulla vernice rossa dava l’impressione che fossero due luci distinte. Infine vi erano delle scritte e numeri in cirillico. L’oggetto fu consegnato alle autorità che lo identificarono come una boa sonora sovietica lanciata da qualche aereo antisommergibile.              

Sighting Description: Four people fishing on board a boat at night saw two lights on the sea. The two lights lit and extinguished alternately. Terrorized they took a pair of binoculars and saw a long antenna coming from the object.  Strangely, while they approached the object the motor was extinguished. Lacking successive analyses it was known that it was an error of engineer that caused this panic. The object hoisted on board and it was discovered to be a tube of long metal from 80 to 90 centimeters, with a diameter of approximately 15-20. It was of red color, with a long antenna approximately a meter. It had a single white lamp, but the reflection from the red paint gave impression that there maybe two different lights. Finally, there were numbers written in Cyrillic. The object was delivered to the authorities and identified as a Soviet buoy. The Soviet’s launched these from an antisubmarine airplane.
