Date: 29 December 1984
Place: 4-5 miles away from Myrtos coast, Ierapetra, south Crete.
Description: At 16:20 an unidentified flying object was seen flying over the sea approaching from SW. The UFO was emitting smoke and after a while made a steep dive and splashed into the sea some miles from the coast creating giant waves “dozens of meters high”. The Port Authorities tried to approach the area of the fall but it was impossible because of the rough sea. No aircraft was reported missing.
