Sighting Description: Il dott.
improvvisamente, così come era comparsi.
Sighting Description: Dr. Da Pozzo,
who was participating in a boat race from Genova to
Minorca and then back to Genova,
was involved in a storm with mistral wind of over 50 knots. Around 6:30 p.m.,
when he was tired from the effort of steering the boat in rough sea, he saw that about a mile
distance the waves, in one point, had an abnormal motion. It was as if an
undertow, due to the presence of a large obstacle, had formed.
Thinking that it was a submarine, he came closer and he noticed a large
object, of about one hundred meters, without any structure above it. While he
was trying to steer to get closer to the object, he saw two shining disk-like
objects still in the sky. Since he had no courage to go under them, the
witness steered again and he realized that the floating object had
disappeared. He later had the impression that he was being followed by the
two lights; consequently he maneuvered the boat for a few minutes until he
did not see anything. After a few minutes the two objects reappeared and they
seemed to follow the boat. One was white and the other one was green. They
followed the boat leeward, at a distance of about a mile, for an hour and
then they suddenly disappeared in the same way they had appeared.
