According
to the Honolulu Advertiser of the 13th of March, 1963,
residents in Windward Oahu “observed a light in the sky north of the island
at about 6:30 P.M. yesterday.
One resident said it was ‘very bright’ and appeared to descend slowly into the sea in a
series of movements.” It was reddish and was visible for five or six
seconds.
