12-6/7-1977 MISSING WATER
NOTE: To date, I have no cases in my files where a UFO has been seen drawing water from a water tower, water tank or swimming pool. It would be speculative to suggest that a UFO drew water from these storage areas when no UFO was seen in the vicinity, and even when a UFO was seen, it would not necessarily imply that it was responsible for the loss of the water. However, given the rapid emptying of these large storage facilities, it is still worth recording these cases for possible future file use. (CF)
NEW ZEALAND: Tatapouri, December 6, 1977.
At 7:30 PM, three people in an automobile reported seeing a disc-shaped, red UFO coming from the direction of the sea. It seemed to follow their car for a distance of about one mile until the driver stopped the car so that they could take a better look at it. At that instant, the UFO veered off into the hills towards the Waimata Valley (an area of increased UFO sightings during that month). The witnesses noted that their car lights were much dimmer than usual and on arriving at their destination, discovered that the car battery had no water in it despite the fact that it was nearly new and had been serviced two days before the sighting.

Dec. 7, 1977; Tatapouri, New Zealand
7:30 PM. A red, disc-shaped object came over land from the direction of the sea. It followed a car with three people inside. The headlights on the car dimmed but did not go out during the sighting, which ended when the UFO veered off into the sky. When the witnesses arrived home, they found the car's battery had no water in it, even though it had been serviced only two days prior to the sighting.
