Go Back Report # 1268

11-05-2000

Woody Point, Monday, November 5, 2000, 7:30 p.m.

A couple were in their parked vehicle in Kaunda [sic-Kunda] Park looking out over water and saw an object the shape and size of a 44-gallon drum, red with a white band around its middle. It seemed to be floating in water about 20 meters away until they noticed that the water was quite choppy, but the object was not bouncing around1. They turned on their car headlights for a better look, but the beam did not engage the object directly. The object then sped off above the water, and at some distance it then shot up and disappeared2 in 5 to 10 seconds. The witness reporting was frustrated and annoyed at not knowing what they had seen even after contacting several relevant authorities.

My notes-CF-:

1 There are a few cases where waves are seen hitting a UFO without the craft moving. This is another attribute of the rotating field that protects the UFO while it is in a fixed position.

2 Another observed tendency of a UFO is to retreat when a steady light is focused on or near it. This might be either a wish not to be detected OR a fear of a weapon such as a laser beam.
