            maneuvers or they dive down and then re-emerge to disappear in the sky (the way

            that the first contact with the water happens is most important).

Sighting Description: Nel cielo di Riposto venne osservato un oggetto bianco che, ingrandendosi, si avvicinava lentamente a terra. L’oggetto si diresse, poi, verso sud-est, abbassandosi verso il mare. Quattro pescatori, mossi da curiosità, si diressero in barca verso il luogo dell’impatto e riuscirono a recuperare un pallone sonda.         

Sighting Description: In the sky of Riposto, a white object was observed becoming larger and slowly approaching land. The object then headed toward the southeast, dropping toward the sea. Four fishermen, moved by curiosity, headed by boat toward the place of the impact and succeeded in recovering a sounding balloon.
