Subject: Possible Sighting

I've never really reported this as I was uncertain as to what I saw or who to make a report to, but this is what happened.

On October 5, 2005 I was in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina for the SC Middle School Conference. My friend Bob and I stayed at the Hampton Inn on Ocean Blvd. The hotel is right on the water with a sand beach between the hotel and water. We had an ocean view room on the 12th or 13th floor. We were sitting on the balcony sometime after 9pm. We had been on the balcony for about 45 minutes or so. We were talking and looking out over the ocean. The sky was clear and there were many stars out. It was chilly and no one was on the beach. At the same time, without saying anything to each other, we both noticed 2 lights in the sky, very small and far away, so they looked like stars, except they moved rapidly in a zig-zag pattern with sharp angular turns. They moved rapidly 3 or 4 times. It only lasted a few seconds, and we both turned to each other and said "did you see that?" We talked about it for a few minutes and then decided we weren’t sure what it was.

About 15-20 minutes later as we were talking and looking out over the ocean we both noticed 2 lights in the ocean about 300 feet or so (estimate) from the shore line. It could have been a bit further as it was hard to tell the distance from our balcony. The glowing lights were 2 separate lights under the water. You could tell they were under the water because they seemed to be glowing rather than a bright light on the water. They were round glowing lights that had some size to them maybe 10 feet or so around, again it was hard to tell how big from the balcony, but they were larger then just a small light. One light moved quickly to our right paralleling the shore then seemed to stop then the other light quickly followed it like it was chasing it. The first light quickly darted ahead again (maybe 100 feet or more, it was hard to tell), the second light darted after it again to catch up with it. It made one more, quick move again at an angle (I believe away from the shore) and the second light followed again. Then it seemed to just disappear. Both of us witnessed it and after it was gone said to each other "what was that?" It was the strangest thing either of us had ever seen. We talked about it for awhile wondering what we had just witnessed. The next day I asked a local guy at the convention if there were glowing fish or something in the waters here. I told him about the experience. He said he has never heard of anything like it, and there were no glowing fish that he knew of. If it was a fish or something it had to be as big as a shark or something.

The next day I was going to tell the staff at the hotel, and ask if they had heard anything like that, but decided not to. I wasn't sure what their reaction might be to my story. I still have no idea as to what we both saw, but after seeing a show on TV about USOs [History Chanel – Deep Sea UFOs –CF-], I think we may have seen something that would classify as a USO.

Thanks for reading this account. Perhaps others may have seen something like this in this area or can explain it.
