On this page I will attempt to chronicle any myth that has a relation to water and the strange things seen on it, coming out of it or going into it, that may have a baring on events of the past that are realized by the tales of our times.

Keeping in mind that Troy was once a myth…..

JAPAN
The Kappa: Ugly, Fishlike Aliens of Japan?
According to well-known stories originating in Medieval Japan, a breed of humanoid creature called the Kappa was believed at the time to dwell in rivers and swampy areas. These beings were diminutive in stature and scaly of hide. They walked erect, though their extremities ended in odd, webbed structures that looked not unlike claws. There hung down from their large mobile ears weird appendages resembling long narrow earrings. Their eyes were triangular and elongated, while on the top of the head there sat what appeared to some observers to be a bald spot, to others a big ball of yarn out of which stuck four lengthy darning needles.
Then and now--there is still the occasional report of the sighting of one of the creatures--the Kappa have received a bad press in Japan. This may have something to do with their grotesque appearance. Whatever the case may be, legends have grown up around them suggesting that they are dirty; greedy and lazy--very much like some of the "wee folk" of the Celtic legends.

At the same time, extraordinary endeavours have been imputed to the Kappa. The medieval chroniclers of Japan claim that these creatures lived in large 'shells' floating on the surface of the water. Every once in a while, the shells would shoot skyward at enormous speeds, hurling their occupants up and away until they were lost from sight in the sky.
Was this because the Kappa were maintaining contact with space vehicles orbiting the earth? Were the Kappa connected in some way with the unidentified flying objects which, according to innumerable reports, were observed in Japan with great frequency from at least the twelfth to the fourteenth centuries? Some of the chroniclers practically sound as if they are reporting regular air traffic crisscrossing above the islands of Japan!
